Default UK police begin to turn on the government

Quote:
Heckled May faces calls to resign

The Home Secretary has faced calls to resign as she was told she had lost the trust of the police.

Theresa May was heckled and booed as she told officers from across England and Wales that they should stop pretending the police were being picked on.

Quote:
Simon Payne, of Warwickshire Police Federation, told her: "Home Secretary, you may not like this, but we no longer trust you in the police service. Full stop. End of story."

Quote:
But she left to a chorus of boos and shouts of "resign" when host John Stapleton asked Mrs May what she could do to win back that trust.

Quote:
Earlier, the 1,200-strong crowd erupted when the federation's chairman Paul McKeever mocked Mrs May. When no-one moved after he asked anyone who thought Mr Winsor's review was independent to put their hand up, he addressed the Home Secretary, saying: "I notice not even you put your hand up."

Mrs May stared at Mr McKeever as the questions continued.

Quote:
Another federation member, Dave Bennett, told Mrs May: "Home Secretary, I believe you are a disgrace."

Like all tyrants who do not govern through love or loyalty, our governments rely on hired mercenaries to enforce their rule. If the money should ever dry up then the thugs start getting restless.

Does that mean that the mandatory 'good cop' show that every UK TV Channel is obliged to air will turn 'bad cop'? Turn a UK TV on at any minute of the day and chances are you can spot a show championing doors being kicked in and supercop arseholes playing Judge Dredd through random traffic disputes. The one on SKY has a narrator who randomly insults the people stopped as 'prats' then gloats over the rrressullt the egomaniacs in uniform write-up.

I just caught something the other night on the BBC where a man on a bicycle in London ran a red light without knowing it and was chased (Without knowing it as the cop chasing on foot was too far behind). The end result was a vanload of cops, a police car and a police helicopter pursuing a bewildered cyclist with commentary being provided like it was from a WWF show.

Cop worship is something that's been growing and simmering in the background for a while now. 9/11 and all that seems to have given it a real boost. The end result is that cops seem to be more and more full of themselves and are starting to get some well deserved stick for it.

I wonder how many ex soldiers were involved in that, and things like it. Its a popular post-terror career aspiration.

The subtext is a fall-out from the London riots a few months back. Having gotten a clattering in the wake of London turning into Looterdon, the Peelers are bitching back at that little woman.

Government offices are nothing but pretty cubicles, ministers are inept mechanics helplessly trying to tweak a lumbering, doddering, gargantuan managerial state.
