I think there is nothing more pathetic than a guy who has not taken advantage of that breathing space to break free from all that. Even if the sex drive is lower, the happiness and peace of mind that the presence of pretty girls brings doesn't go away. In fact the need for it seems to intensify.

Maybe the old guy just met a lovely young lady, and they fell mutually & sincerely in love. If so, then there would be nothing wrong with that.

In reality, we pretty much know that she is a scatter-brained slut who is (at best) one step removed from working as a stripper, and he's a dirty old man using his money & prestige to con some young woman into soiling herself for access to his bank account. But the fact we more-or-less know the latter scenario to be true says a lot more about our society today (and the sort of people apt to "serve" on an institution like the Canadian federal Senate), then it does about the potential for love & beauty that is innate to man-woman pairings, irrespective of potential age differences.
